Ambulance
Should you need an ambulance whilst on the Costa del Sol, the number to dial is 061. There are free and private ambulance services for emergencies. Depending on whether you have a private insurance or social security.
Fire
The fire brigade (bomberos) can be contacted by dialing 080
Police
There are three separate police organisations in Spain. In the case of theft, you should report it to the National Police. They are responsible for crime investigation among other duties. They can be identified by the black uniforms and white shirts or blue military style uniforms. Local police devote most of their time to traffic control. Spanish law demands that a driving licence, photographic identification, car registration document and insurance cover are carried at all times when driving your vehicle It is an offence not to carry these documents whilst driving in Spain. The Guardia Civil are identifiable by their green uniforms. Their responsibilities include traffic control and speed checks on main highways. In an emergency, the police can be contacted on 091 (national), 092 (local) and 062 (guardia civil)
